Clevery Mill is situated in the heart of Ireland's most historic area. Within a short distance, the following can be found:
* Carrowkeel Megalithic Tombs - 'thirteen cairns', a long cairn, 'a megalythic cyst' and a dense cluster of huts dating from 3000 BC
* Heapstown Cairn, the 4th biggest in Ireland
* Moytura, where the Tuathe de Dannan battled the Formaorans and Balor of the evil eye lost his eye and created lough na suil
* Fishing is available on nearby Lough Arrow, Lough Bo and Lough Na Reibe. River and sea fishing can also be found nearby.
*Rosses Point, Strandhill, Enniscrone and Ballymote all offer excellent golfing facilities.
*Riverstown has a folk park worth visiting and it contains a wonderful collection of old agricultural machinery.
*Just further north on the N4 is Sligo town which is great for shopping and has a vibrant nightlife.
